Dr. Ballou is a psychiatrist, writer and speaker.

 

She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Fine Art History at the University of Toronto.

 

She obtained her Medical Doctorate (MD) at the University of Ottawa and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto.

 

She practices medicine in both English and French.

 

She has nearly 10 years of experience working as an inpatient psychiatrist and emergency room consultant in hospitals across Canada.

 

She is a clinical associate staff at the University of Toronto and provides psychodynamic psychotherapy supervision for psychiatry residents.
